Trademark & Brand Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
The Savvy source code is free and open under the MIT License. The Savvy name and logo, however, are not covered by that license — they are unregistered (common-law) brand assets of Bohdan Nahornyi. No formal trademark registration exists yet; this notice still asks you to respect the brand. This page explains what you may and may not do with it.
What you can do
- Use, modify, fork and redistribute the code under the MIT License.
- Truthfully state that your project is “based on Savvy” or “a fork of Savvy”, as a factual reference.
- Use the name to link to or write about the official project.
What requires permission
- Naming your fork, product or service “Savvy” (or a confusingly similar name), or using the logo as your own.
- Using the name or logo in a way that implies official status, endorsement, or affiliation when there is none.
- Using the brand for merchandise or domain names.
Forks
If you publish a modified version, please give it your own distinct name and branding so users are not misled about its origin or maintenance.
